On Good Friday, Vatican Claims It Is Being Treated Like Holocaust Victims.
I’m not sure it’s possible for the Catholic Church to sink any lower. Given all the escalating news linking the Pope to having greater direct knowledge and involvement in the cover-up of hundreds if not thousands of cases of priest pedophilia, the Vatican is running for cover and looking for solace anywhere it can.
But today’s comments reached a new low.

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI’s personal preacher is likening accusations against the pope and the church in the sex abuse scandal to “collective violence” suffered by the Jews.
The Rev. Raniero Cantalamessa said in a Good Friday sermon, with the pope listening to him in St. Peter’s Basilica, that a Jewish friend has said the accusations remind him of the “more shameful aspects of anti-Semitism.”
Yes, the genocide of six million Jews is rather similar to attacks on the Church for its enabling decades of pedophilia.
