Obama Using 54 Christmas Trees To Wage White House War On Christmas

The radical right wing nuts are at it again. It’s the Holiday Season, so it’s time to prove Obama is waging a War on Christmas — by having too many trees in the White House. George Bush had 49 Christmas trees in 2006 — but that garnered not a peep from conservatives.

Of course, there’s nothing like a good piece of BS to regurgitate year after year, so conservative blogger Andrew Malcolm at the right-wing Investor’s Business Daily went into his archives and pulled out the same piece of BS as he did last year, updated it, and ran it yesterday:

Amazing how a reelection can reshape an incumbent’s thinking about many things. Now safely ensconced in the White House for 49 more months, the Obamas have decorated the place with 54 Christmas trees this year.

Even allowing for the usual Washington excesses with taxpayer money, that’s a whole grove of Christmas trees.

“We have 54 trees in the White House,” an excited Michelle Obama proudly told visitors the other day. “54! That’s a lot of trees.”

In fact, the Obamas’ 54 trees this year are almost 50% more Christmas trees than last year. That was during the campaign before Obama whispered a reminder to the Russians that he had to be careful until Nov. 6, when a victory would give him more “flexibility.”

Now, how much carbon do you suppose those 54 trees could be sequestering had they not been chopped by this green president?

And no wonder Obama talked over the weekend about addressing tax increases before any of that annoying business about cutting spending to address this thing called the national debt, now having soared past $16.3 trillion..

Here’s Andrew Malcolm’s BS from last year:

The economy may be weak, unemployment strong and the first family soon to vacate the White House for another half-month of vacation in Hawaii.

But the Obamas have gone all out in decorating their house this year, including a nearly quarter-ton gingerbread White House.

They have also installed 37 different Christmas trees. Thirty of the trees are live, or were, including one nearly 19-feet tall from Wisconsin. Seven of the three dozen Christmas trees are artificial or homemade including, of course, one from recyclables.

Seriously, get a life pal.

Why not mention the Obamas have opened the White House to visitors — an expected 90,000 will see the People’s House tho year — whereas the Bush’s closed the White House after 9/11.

Why not mention some of these trees are decorated for and dedicated to America’s Armed Forces?

No, it’s easier to curmudgeonly attack the Obamas.
