Obama Parenting Mentor Bristol Palin About To Lose Son To Levi Johnston?

Is Bristol Palin about to lose her son Tripp to the boy’s father, Levi Johnston? Bristol Palin, whose relationship with Levi Johnston has been on-again, off-again — and now off for good, apparently — never married the mayoral-wannabe and former Playgirl model. Palin, an unwed teenager at the time of Tripp’s birth, now advocates for an abstinence-only foundation that pays her eight times ($260,500) what it donates to abstinence-only efforts, and also earns an income from her Lifetime reality TV show, “Life’s A Tripp.”

“Dismayed by a reality-TV show featuring his ex-fiancee, Bristol Palin, and their son, Tripp, Levi Johnston plans to seek full custody of the boy,” ABC News reports:

In a statement to ABC News, Johnston wrote, “I want full or half custody of Tripp. His room is already set up in my house and just waiting for him.”

Palin, 21, and 3-year-old Tripp are featured on the Lifetime show, “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.”  Johnston says the show is proof that his ex is a terrible parent and his son is “on a downward spiral,” the gossip website TMZ reported.

TMZ reported that Johnston, 22, is so “disgusted” by his son’s language and behavior that he obtained the required court papers to file the custody petition.

“I love my son more than anything … and I will do whatever it takes to make sure he is raised the right way,” Johnston reportedly told TMZ.

In a recent episode of the  show, Tripp threw a temper tantrum when told he couldn’t go to the pool. When his aunt, Willow, tried to calm him, Tripp told her and his mother that he hated them, then told Willow, “Go away, you f***!”

Initial reports indicated Tripp had used an anti-gay slur, but his mother said in a blog post that he “used a different ‘f word.’” Palin confessed on the show to doing “a terrible job disciplining Tripp.”

What’s the point?

Who cares, you say?

When Sarah Palin, whose voice is still revered by millions of Americans, and whose political endorsement has placed several anti-gay Tea Party radicals into public office, pushes the “wisdom” of her daughter in areas like parenting and marriage — while the younger Palin clearly has no concept or success in either area — and uses it to attack liberals and President Obama, along with the institution of marriage equality and same-sex parenting, it matters.

No one on the left gives one iota what any of the Palin’s think, or have to say, except that the royal family of the Tea Party’s words still have a strong impact on the outcomes and issues that affect us all.

That’s why this matters.

If a court actually finds Bristol Palin an unfit mother, or changes the custody agreement in any way because of how Bristol Plain is raising her child, that certainly proves that her “counsel” to President Obama is ludicrous (which it was) and she has no business speaking out — and being taken seriously — on important matters like family, marriage, and parenting.
