O’Reilly: Hispanics, Women, Gays, Blacks Don’t Believe In ‘Self Reliance’

var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:true};Fox NewsBill O’Reilly last night claimed that Hispanics, women, Blacks, and gays are “non-traditional” voters who “don’t believe in self reliance” or “American exceptionalism.”

Stating that “a coalition of voters put the President back into the oval office,” O’Reilly screamed, “That coalition was non-traditional, which means it veered away from things like traditional marriage, robust capitalism, and self reliance. Instead, each constituency that voted for the President — whether it be single women, Hispanic Americans, African Americans, whatever — had very specific reasons for doing so.”

Apparently, in Bill O’Reilly’s world, voters are not supposed to be educated about the candidates they choose, and should not have “very specific reasons” for voting.

“Traditional American voters generally want a smaller government in Washington, more local control, some oversight on abortion, and believe in American exceptionalism,” O’Reilly falsely stated.

Traditional American voters generally are Republicans or Democrats, and neither party can lay claim to wanting — or producing — “a smaller government in Washington,” for example.

The concept that Democrats — including Hispanics, women, Blacks, and gays — don’t believe in “American exceptionalism” is a lie. The difference is that Democrats know American exceptionalism has to be earned.

O’Reilly just wants credit because he’s an old white heterosexual man who’s been afforded benefits his entire life merely by having been born white, male, and heterosexual.

It’s O’Reilly who doesn’t believe in having to earn the label “exceptional” every day.

Over at Think Progress, Annie-Rose Strasser offered this thought:

O’Reilly isn’t new to making racially charged comments. Just days before the election, he speculated that Sec. of State Colin Powell cut Obama “a little more slack” in his endorsement of him because they are both black. He’s also claimed that Democrats have made black people “dependent” on the government.

Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who is now trying to buy the L.A. Times and  the Chicago Tribune, which would be devastating to quality American journalism. Murdoch Saturday attacked the “Jewish owned press” for they way the press — Jewish and non-Jewish — is covering the Gaza conflict. Members of the British Parliament in May released a lengthy 125-page report stating Rupert Murdoch ”is not a fit person to exercise the stewardship of a major international company.”
