NYC Tonight: A Very Special “A Home Across The Ocean”

“A Home Across The Ocean,” a very special play by frequent-contributor to this site, Cody Daigle, tonight offers a very special event: Daniel Siford will be the special guest for Talk-Back Tuesday after the 7pm performance of A Home Across The Ocean at Theatre Row.

Cody is a Louisiana-based LGBTQ journalist. His play, “A Home Across the Ocean” takes an emotional and thoughtful look at grief, gay parenting and family.

Connor and his boyfriend think they’re ready to start a family; Connor’s recently widowed mother thinks she needs to re-start a family herself. When a thirteen-year-old foster child and a poet from London arrive into their lives, they’ll find out exactly how ready they are.

“A Home Across The Ocean” is a selection at The 2010 National NewBorn Festival.

Mr. Siford is a case planner supervisor for the Families for Teens Program at SCO Family of Services, the largest child welfare agency in the state of New York. He has worked extensively with LGBTQ teenagers in the NYC foster care system and specializes with youth who have extraordinary needs and need intensive casework. Mr. Siford was the first PTA President at the Harvey Milk High School when it became a NYC public school in 2003. He holds a Masters of Science in Psychology.

Talk-Backs are free.
