NY Times’ Nate Silver Increases Obama’s Chance Of Winning To 80.9%

New York Times’ FiveThirtyEight blogger and statistician extraordinaire, Nate Silver, just before midnight calculated President Obama‘s chances of winning as 80.9%, the highest number in weeks. Silver’s model calculates Obama taking 303 electoral votes, and a slight increase in the popular vote, now at 50.5%.

It will be interesting to see if today’s positive jobs numbers have any impact on Silver’s calculations.

Given all the problems we can assume will occur thanks to Hurricane Sandy, that 50.5% number seems generous to me, but I’m no Nate Silver.

That said, tell your friends and families they should make sure to make the effort to vote, for Obama, for all those people who won’t be able to because they’ve lost their homes.

Remember, this only happens if you vote.
