NY Times Headlines Photo Of Our D.C. Marriage Friends, Jonathan And Gregory!

Yes, our friends Jonathan Howard and Gregory Jones (above) were featured in this New York Times story yesterday about the first day of granting same-sex marriage licenses in Washington, D.C.

Via The New York Times:

“On a typical day the office processes 10 licenses, court officials said. By late Wednesday afternoon, more than 140 couples had filed to be married, the mayor’s office said.”

“City officials say the measure will also provide a financial boost to the local economy. A study by the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, predicted that more than 14,000 same-sex marriages would occur in the city over the next three years, which would bring in $5 million in new tax revenue and create 700 jobs.”

They are a great couple. They have been so excited and yet so humble about all the attention they are getting, between their D.C. marriage license and their entry in Crate and Barrel’s “Ultimate Wedding Contest,” these guys are doing a great job!

I’d love it if you would help them regain their first place spot in the Crate and Barrel contest. All it takes is a few minutes of your time, and you’ll be showing America that a same-sex couple is equal! Sadly, these guys have been the target of some hateful rhetoric and commentary on blogs about their entry. I’d like them to win so we can show America one of the many ways equality looks like!

Then, make sure you check out their photos from yesterday, and the news video they were featured in as well!
