The NRA today had scheduled a “Tweet And Greet” with Colt Ford, a country music rapper, but Ford announced an hour ago the event “will be rescheduled.” No reason was given.

The NRA otherwise has remained silent in the wake of today’s tragic shooting in a Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school that left 27 dead, including 18 children.

The school serves 600 children ages five to ten.

In July, as The New Civil Rights Movement reported, hours after the Aurora, Colorado massacre that left 12 dead and 58 wounded, the National Rifle Association (NRA) sent out a tweet asking, “Good morning, shooters. Happy Friday! Weekend plans?”
