Not Yet Fired Fox Reporter Who Outed Teacher’s Porn Past Defends Actions

Mike Beaudet may in fact be Malden, Massachusetts’ least-favorite reporter ever, but while he still has his job at local Fox affiliate Fox 25 WFXT-TV, he and his as-yet unnamed producer are milking their story about a beloved high school teacher’s past work in gay porn for all it’s worth. Last night, Beaudet, went on-air to discuss why he did the “undercover” story, outing Kevin Hogan, but all he could come up with is a replay of the previous night’s story, sans the porn B-roll.

Apparently, as you’ll see in this video, Beaudet would be just fine if Hogan — whom we still don’t know if it even is Hogan who made the films — had made the films 20 years ago, rather than just last year. Apparently, when you make porn has something to do with whether or not you’re a “good enough” person to teach high school kids.

Interestingly, too, the story starts and ends with the “fact” that Fox got a tip and that’s how they started to pursue the story…

Beaudet, who has worked at WFXT since 1996, will no doubt go down in history as the man who did this story, as all Google seems to find is reactions about Beaudet’s “Porn Star Teacher” story. There was done that thought his investigative report about local Department of Labor workers drinking on the job was “hilarious.”

Amusing side note: WFXT, before it was bought by Fox, was WXNE, “X” and in “Christ,” “NE” as in New England. It was owned by the Christian Broadcasting Network. I’ll leave it to you to mull that over.

Frankly, I looked to see if Beaudet had covered the Jerry Buell story, but couldn’t find anything on the Fox 25 website. Feel free to see if he had a different take on the actions of teachers who attack marriage equality.

There’s a “Support Kevin Hogan, FIRE Mike Beaudet” Facebook page, with more than 1400 fans, and a Fire Mike Beaudet petition at Change.org.
