NOM Promotes Video Of Convicted Child Abuser

NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, is promoting a video of a convicted child abuser on its NOM Blog and on Twitter via tweets by NOM President Brian Brian. Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church, who posted a video of him supporting NOM’s Dump Starbucks campaign, is a convicted child abuser, but that doesn’t matter to the “pro-family” folks at the National Organization For Marriage.

Wikipedia notes that Pastor Enyart “was convicted for misdemeanor child abuse in 1994 after beating his girlfriend’s child with a belt so hard that the beating broke the skin,” and also notes Enyart “was convicted of criminal trespass following a protest at Focus on the Family.”

In a blog post, “Video: Colorado Pastor Decides to Literally DumpStarbucks.com!,” NOM touts Enyart’s YouTube intro:

Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church joins DumpStarbucks.com by pouring his Venti (20 oz) Pike blend down a Colorado sewer because the company is trying to undermine the teach[ing] of Jesus Christ that God made us male and female at the beginning of creation.

NOM demonstrates it could care less about Enyart’s convicted child abuse status because their post was published on Thursday, and even today, even with several comments on the post alerting NOM, like, “You ‘forget?’ to mention the guy is also a convicted child abuser,” NOM has not removed the post and NOM’s President Brian Brown, a father of at least two children, today tweeted the post.
