Newt Gingrich Cause Of Current Partisan Divide Says Fmr Rep Jane Harman

Newt Gingrich is the root cause of the extreme partisan divide the country now sees, according to former Democratic Congresswoman Jane Harman, in an interview she gave to MSNBC anchor Chris Jansing Thursday. Jansing says, “You think the partisanship divide really started with Newt Gingrich in the ’90s. What happened?” Harman replies, “Well, the recent divide did.”

Harman was a Congresswoman in California who served from 1993 to 1999, and then from 2001 to 2011. She resigned recently to become the President of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Harman has a new Newsweek op-ed published at The Daily Beast.
