Newt Gingrich Announces Presidential Candidacy By Not Being Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich, the most pessimistic GOP politician in America, announces his candidacy for President of the United States in this just-released video by saying, “I believe we can return America to hope and opportunity.” Gingrich “is well-known among Republicans, but has a below-average — and declining — Positive Intensity Score,” writes pollster Gallup Tuesday of the failed former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“Gingrich’s declining Positive Intensity Score is not good news for the soon-to-be official candidate. Given the renewed visibility that will accrue as he enters the race on Wednesday, Gingrich in theory has the potential to alter these perceptions,” Gallup adds.

Gingrich will need to work very hard, as already 42% of Americans say the will “never” vote for him.

Gingrich, who prosecuted President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial, on Fox News told host Chris Wallace he sees no hypocrisy on his part as he prosecuted Clinton for lying about an affair while he, himself, was having a clandestine affair of his own.

Newt Gingrich, despite two divorces, three marriages, numerous adulterous affairs, and House ethics violations, has also made a career of focusing on social issues, religion, and so-called morality. In March, Gingrich gave a speech at a San Antonio, Texas megachurch, Cornerstone Church, and stated “I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America,” he fears America will become “a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists.”

As The New Civil Rights Movement wrote when President Obama announced he would no longer defend DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act in court, Gingrice said, “The President is replacing the rule of law with the rule of Obama. The President swore an oath on the Bible to ensure that the laws be faithfully executed, not to decide which laws are and which are not constitutional.”

Newt Gingrich, thrice married, twice divorced, serial adulterer, disgraced and forced to resign his Congressional seat and office, is again lying here. “The President swore an oath on the Bible to ensure that the laws be faithfully executed, not to decide which laws are and which are not constitutional.” Nope. Want to hold the office? Learn the oath first. And, for those who don’t remember their history, many other presidents, including Eisenhower, Kennedy, Truman, Ford, Clinton, Bush 41, Bush 43, and yes, even Reagan, have refused to defend laws they believed unconstitutional. Any questions?
