NCAA: Penn State Fined $60 Million, All Paterno 1998-2011 Wins Vacated, 4-Year Bowl Game Ban

Citing Penn State‘s “reckless and callous disregard for the children,” the NCAA has fined Penn State $60 million, vacated all of Coach Joe Paterno‘s wins from 1998-2011, and banned Penn State from the next four years of bowl games. While not going as far as invoking the “death penalty” for Penn State, the NCAA has now officially removed Paterno’s legacy as the all-time winning coach.

The Louis Freeh investigation into the Jerry Sandusky/Penn State child sex abuse case revealed Penn State actively attempted to cover up the rapes.
