Mom Of NOM’s Anti-Gay Poster Boy Says Pro-Gay Companies Are Using Her Son

Dakota Ary is the high school student whose anti-gay beliefs he calls “Christian.” He and his mother, Holly Pope, are determined to get as much attention as humanly possible, it seems, so they’ve teamed up with NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, and NOM’s Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance, along with Jerry Falwell’s Liberty Counsel.

Dakota says he was given detention for four hours last year because he said in class that his religion makes him believe homosexuality is wrong.

NBC, however, last year reported:

On the referral form, Ary is quoted as saying “no gays allowed in Christianity.” The form says the comment was unprovoked and out of context. The final sentence of the explanation on the referral reads, “It is wrong to make such a statement in public school.”

Perhaps what’s most comical about all this is Dakota Ary’s mother, Holly Pope, says she’s really angry because there are a lot of pro-gay marriage “companies” using her son Dakota.

Huh?

What “pro-gay companies” are using your son, Ms. Pope? Starbucks? Amazon? Google? Apple? How are they “using” him?

Because frankly, you’ve allowed your son to be totally used — and embarrassingly so — by NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, and their “Marriage ADA,” along with the Liberty Counsel.

That’s the real shame here.
