Matthew Shepard Beaten To Death By His Homosexual Lover Over A Meth Deal Gone Bad Says Fischer

There’s a new book out about the murder of Matthew Shepard that the right is using to claim Shepard was not the victim of an anti-gay hate crime, but was killed during a drug deal gone bad. The book is titled, The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths About the Murder of Matthew Shepard, and its validity has been quickly called into question for many reasons.

Over the weekend, sadly, the Advocate published an unfortunate profile of the book, which right wing nuts are now fawning over now. To give the book any credence whatsoever is a mistake and a disservice to the memory of Matthew Shepard — but that’s exactly what the right wants to do, and they’ve now found a way to do it.

Bryan Fischer, the spokesperson for the anti-gay hate group American Family Association, today jumped on board the bandwagon,  claiming “everything you know about Matthew Shepard is wrong.”

“This whole thing about Matthew Shepard is a total lie,” Fischer says in the video, below. “He was beaten by a homosexual lover over a drug deal gone bad. Had a meth shipment, his gay lover wanted it, Matthew Shepard didn’t want to give it to him, he got beaten, left for dead, in a Wyoming field.”

There is no reason to believe that is factually correct, and every reason to believe it is false.

“And by the way, it highlights another tragic pathology of the homosexual lifestyle,” Fischer, whose facts are, of course, easily disputable, says. “Domestic partner violence in the homosexual community is somewhere between two and four times higher than it is in the heterosexual community.”

“You’ve got this man beaten to death by his gay lover — brutally — which again is one of the pathologies of the homosexual community. When they have domestic violence man it gets mean. it gets brutal it gets vicious it’s savage. You can see why Adolph Hitler preferred them for his storm troopers his enforcers.”

Later, Fischer discusses the Westboro Baptist Church’s picketing of him, and adds, “we don’t have any hatred in our heart for homosexuals.”
