Maryland Senate Delays Debate And Vote On Same-Sex Marriage

This morning just before 10:30 Am, the Maryland Senate, as scheduled, took up Governor O’Malley’s same-sex marriage bill. Immediately, attempts to postpone and delay debate in the form of “poison pill” amendments that had already been rejected in committee were attempted.

As a compromise, the Senate decided to delay “for one full day” the marriage equality bill debate.

Expect the Maryland Senate to take up the bill again tomorrow. It is expected but not assured to pass.
