Maddow Sued For $50 Million By Bachmann Buddy Bradlee Dean. Allegedly.

First, you must listen to this. Forward to 1:20 for the relevant clip, but listen to the end so you can hear Bradlee Dean claim that on average homosexuals molest 117 people before they’re found out. But, since Dean is lawsuit happy, I’ll add, “allegedly,” even though it’s right there in the audio.

Rachel Maddow, MSNBC anchor and favorite truth teller of the liberal left (me too!) is being sued for $50 million by Christian rock star Bradlee Dean, the infamous head of the infamous group, You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International, over a particular statement Dean made that he now claims isn’t really what he meant. You know, like when someone says,

“Muslims are calling for the executions of homosexuals in America. This just shows you they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible of the Judeo-Christian God, but they seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do, because these people are livid about enforcing their laws. They know homosexuality is an abomination…. If America won’t enforce the laws, God will raise up a foreign enemy to do just that. That’s what you are seeing today in America,”

but then later wants you to think they said,

“I like French toast.”

A press release published today, “Suit Prays for Damages in Excess of $50 Million for Slander and False Light,” that announces Bradlee Dean and his folks will be holding a press conference at the New York Press Club tomorrow, during which Dean and his folks will be announcing he is suing Maddow, actually states,

Bradlee Dean, a renowned hard metal rocker who came to Christ after suffering a hard life as a young boy, has dedicated his life to this mission, a mission that has been under attack by liberal media since its inception.
In the course of his ministry, Dean once made a statement on radio criticizing his fellow Christians for not taking a stronger stand about the gay rights lobby promoting homosexuality in the schools. He made a strong reference to Muslims taking the issue more seriously in the context of Shariah law, but did not condone their practices. It was Bradlee’s intent to focus attention on the issue, not to advocate harm to anyone.
Despite the very clear disclaimer by Bradlee Dean on his ministries website and elsewhere regarding the false accusation that he was calling for the execution of homosexuals, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and others seized on and accused Dean on her show of supporting the killing of homosexuals, as is the practice in some radical Islamic countries. This seriously has harmed Dean and the ministry, who pride themselves on respect and love for all people.

No doubt, Dean will announce at the press conference, “I like French toast.”

And no doubt, this isn’t a stunt to make money and get some attention. Because it’s not like Bradlee Dean has a movie to hawk or anything, right? Oh, wait…

My War: The Testimony Of Bradlee Dean. Just ended its eight week run last month. And now it’s on DVD. Why, this couldn’t be the perfect time to get some media attention by suing the Liberal Left’s favorite truth-teller, could it? Allegedly.

So here’s some attention.

Back in May, Bradlee Dean somehow got invited to deliver the daily morning benediction to the Minnesota House, the day they were to consider an anti-gay marriage bill. He got as far as to say,

“I know this is a non-denominational prayer in this Chamber and it’s not about the Baptists and it’s not about the Catholics alone or the Lutherans or the Wesleyans. Or the Presbyterians the evangelicals or any other denomination but rather the head of the denomination and his name is Jesus. As every President up until 2008 has acknowledged. And we pray it. In Jesus’ name,”

and then was asked to leave. Allegedly.

You Can Run But You Cannot Hide is a self-styled Christian youth ministry that reportedly has a flashy media kit it sends to school administrators. They hide behind hard metal rocker Bradlee Dean, and then when they show up at your school, the pleasure for which your school has paid them many thousands of dollars, they have their way with the minds of young, impressionable students and start talking about thew evils of homosexuality, and abortion, under the guise of religion and God and Jesus Christ. Allegedly.

Via Wikipedia:

The ministry opens assemblies with a one hour set from Junkyard Prophet. The set incorporates a fog machine which has frequently set off school fire alarms, while the loudness of this music also led one high school staffer to warn students of permanent hearing loss at a 2005 assembly. After their musical performance, Dean typically gives a lecture where he puts forth his views on teen pregnancy, the Constitution, abstinence, abortion, and their claim the media has a liberal slant while reporting. Though he freely admits to using the assemblies to evangelize for Christianity, Dean does not claim any background as a trained minister, insisting “those who want to be in the pulpit are called of Satan.” During his interactive speech with the assembled students, Dean frequently wades into controversial issues such as gun control, abortion, environmentalism, and education reform. In drawing upon his past troubles with drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence, Dean “claims the authority of experience over and against the authority of those who have only studied a topic.”

Allegedly.

Oh, and yes, Michele Bachmann has supported Bradlee Dean and his ministry financially, and headlined a fundraiser for You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International. Big surprise. Allegedly.

Big thanks and hat tip to the good folks at Right Wing Watch!
