Maddow: Stealing Civil Rights: A Primer Via Virginia’s Ken Cuccinelli

Rachel Maddow last night detailed the disgusting “defacto prohibition” of abortion by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. You remember Cuccinelli, don’t you? He came to fame recently when he issued his now-characteristic “opinions,” formal statements on state of Virginia letterhead that declares his opinion as (all but) law.

Who is going to go against a crusading attorney general, the man elected to uphold, regulate, and prosecute the law?

Cuccinelli almost immediately upon taking office issued an opinion which directed all state schools and colleges to remove any existing sexual orientation references from their non-discrimination policies.

Nice, huh?

One might call it disgusting, a direct infringement upon the constitution and civil rights…

You decide.

Listen to Maddow and think about the definition of a hate crime.

Then think about this:

A hate crime, in the words of conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, “is really two crimes — one against the individual and another against the group to which he belongs.”

Tell me the difference.
