Uses false claims of anal cancer, HIV/AIDS, and “skyrocketing medical costs” to argue against same-sex marriage
Kara Young, a possible Tea Party candidate for Lt. Governor in the state of Rhode Island, last night testified before her state’s senate judiciary committee in opposition to a same-sex marriage bill.
Young is well-known anti-gay activist and religious bigot:

Her opening? Â “Make no mistake. Tonight, the soul and the future of Rhode Island is on the line.”
So, what kind of future would the newly-married Kara Young like?
“Kara is strongly pro-life and pro-family,” her Facebook candidate page states. “She is very active in the pro-life movement and produces pro-life television shows statewide, including Standing for Life in Rhode Island. She is a strong defender of the United States Constitution, she strongly defends the 2nd Amendment as our most important safeguard against government tyranny, and she fights on many fronts to defend the religious freedom that all Americans are guaranteed through the U.S. Constitution.”
As long as the “religious freedom she’s “defending” isn’t the freedom to marry — which many religious groups and sects support; then, it’s called “tyranny” and “breaking down religion, family, and population.”
Kara (image, right,) recently married Chris Young (image, left,)Â who has recently run for Congress, and mayor of Providence, losing both attempts.
“Both Kara and Chris,” she writes on Facebok, “consistently fight against the atheistic communistic agenda to destroy our country by attempting to remove God from the public square, and by breaking down religion, family, and population.”
During last night’s marathon 12-hour hearing, Kara Young told the senate committee:
“The supporters of the gay marriage bill are asking for the state seal of approval on immoral behavior, and a moral wrong can never be a civil right. You can call any immoral behavior a civil right. Polygamy, pedophilia…”
“This is the first step for pushing for civil rights and non-discrimination for pedophilia because when you remove God society collapses, it’s a steady decline, and tat’s exactly what a bill like this does.”
Young, as you can hear in this video, points to several books of the Bible, including Leviticus, of course, to push her anti-gay hate and lies.
And then talked about anal cancer.
Young falsely stated that “in Massachusetts, after they legalized same-sex marriage, the health costs skyrocketed” because of HIV, anal cancer, and AIDS she said.
Truth be told, studies show health care costs in Massachusetts went down after marriage equality became law in Massachusetts.
But Kara Young is peddling something besides truth.
