Kirk Cameron Attacks Democrats: Forefathers Said ‘God Is The Platform’

Christian Evangelist Kirk Cameron on Sunday at a prayerfest attacked Democrats by claiming, falsely, that, “according to our forefathers, God is the platform.” Cameron, who appeared with Rick Santorum and Tony Perkins at  “iPledge Sunday: A Call to Faith, Family, and Freedom,” assailed Democrats for their support of same-sex marriage and their pro-choice positions in their party plank. Democrats have come under fire for removing, and then protesting the replacement of the word “God” in their platform last week at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

“Our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves to hear what we are discussing,” Cameron, who has teamed up with NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, claimed, adding, “they would be appalled.”

“The sanctity of life. Really? The definition of marriage. Really? Religious freedom. Really?,” Cameron told the audience.

Last month, Cameron announced his support for Congressman Todd Akin as merely a “pro-life advocate” who’s “in a tough spot.” In July, GLAAD responded to NOM’s video starring Cameron, by calling him NOM’s latest “non-cognitive elite,” quoting the phrase NOM used in their secret corporate game plan to race bait and divide Democrats.

iPledge Sunday was hosted by two anti-gay hate groups, the American Family Association and the Family Research Council.
