Keith Olbermann Slams Sochi Olympics: ‘The Russians Could Arrest The Pope’ (Video)

Keith Olbermann had been off the airwaves for far too long. A sports fanatic, he certainly is at home now at ESPN, although many (yours truly included) miss him from his MSNBC and Current nightly anchor roles. Although Olbermann’s ESPN contract specifically states he is not allowed to discuss politics, Olbermann last night spent nine minutes and fourteen seconds being Keith Olbermann by mocking Russia, Vladimir Putin, Putin’s war on gays, the Sochi Olympics, and the International Olympics Committee — all brilliantly.

Olbermann explained Vladimir Putin’s anti-gay laws, the calls for a boycott of the 2014 Winter Olympics over Vladimir Putin’s anti-gay laws, and how “the Russians could arrest the Pope” for the comments he made recently supporting gay people: “Who am I to judge?

Fascinating, and wonderful. Welcome back, Keith. We missed you.
