Moments ago, in response to the fifty-two Democrats and five Republicans who voted in the Senate to kill Paul Ryan’s anti-Medicare, anti-Seniors budget, Senator Jim DeMint blew off some steam. Via Twitter, the junior Republican Senator from South Carolina said, “Democrat budget votes make it official: they are the party of big government, big spending, big debt & bankrupting the economy.”
That is the Republican roll call mantra on the Democrats. Democrats are bad at balancing the budget, bad at national security, raise taxes, etc., etc., etc.
But let’s take a look at some numbers, and then let’s call Senator Jim DeMint out on his cheap little “big government, big spending, big debt & bankrupting the economy” lie.
