Infographic: HIV/AIDS 30 Years Later — Successes And Failures

This infographic on the successes and failures of HIV/AIDS, titled, “The Changing Face of AIDS,” tells many stories. Sadly, the human ones are too many to fit. Thanks to the great people at Good, one of my favorite “magazines,” and Column Five for putting it together for today’s World AIDS Day observation. Please visit Good for a larger version, one in flash, and one really big one!

The info graphic notes discrimination against HIV-positive people is down (though still high, as today’s sad story about a 13-year old HIV-positive teen being denied admission to a private school shows,) and comfort around HIV-positive people is up. Also, the incidence of people living with HIV/AIDS is stabilizing, and AIDS-related deaths are “down slightly.”

So much work yet to do.
