Hey, GOP: PLEASE Use Tax Cuts To Block Repeal Of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

Note To Dems: Giving Into GOP Bush Tax Cut Threats Doesn’t Mean They’ll Vote For “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Repeal

Earlier today I asked, “What do you call a group that uses threats, condones repression, and takes hostages?” Do you think the GOP is a terrorist group? In my opinion, they are acting as if they are.

Yesterday the White House posted this video, titled, “The President on His Bipartisan Meeting: ‘The Beginning of a New Dialogue‘” on its blog. Hours later, the Republican Senators — all forty-two of them — signed a letter stating they wouldn’t allow any legislation to pass until the Bush tax cuts are extended.

The Obama administration has played the fool, and has been played by the GOP.

Just look at the screenshot of the front page of the White House’s own website today, up above. “Reaching Across the Aisle.” It should add, “And Getting Your Ass Handed To You.”

Enough is enough.

Bush tax cuts or no, if this White House cannot get “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repealed, the courts will ban “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

Personally, that would be just fine with me.

If “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is not repealed by the Senate, it WILL be once again banned by the federal courts. It has already been declared unconstitutional once. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has stated he fears the courts will win the race to end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

I say, screw the GOP. Let the courts have their say and end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” If they do, it will happen immediately, with no control by the military, just as happened last month. One day, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” will be the law of the land, the next day “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” will literally be illegal.

And then the American people will see the GOP for whom they are: political terrorists.

Works just fine for me.
