GOProud Gets Boot From CPAC And Michelangelo Signorile’s Show
GOProud, the gay conservative group, has gotten the boot from next year’s CPAC, according to a report at World Net Daily, who calls GOProud a “homosexual activist group,” and adds, “a source has confirmed that a board vote has been taken that will realign plans for those who participate next year to exclude homosexual advocacy, although details had not been released.”
You’ll remember we reported last week in “At CPAC, Gay Is Not OK,” that “less than twenty-four hours into his new job as Chairman of the American Conservative Union — the people who produce CPAC each year — Al Cardenas has essentially said that the gay GOP group GOProud isn’t going to be invited to return next year.”
Additionally, many right-wing bigots and their organizations, such as the Heritage Foundation and the Family Research Council, Senator Jim DeMint, and other Republican heavyweights decided to not attend, because of GOProud’s presence.

And in a World Net Daily op-ed on GOProud getting booted, anti-gay activist Joseph Farah writes, “GOProud is the reason CPAC’s staff will be completely turned over for future conferences.”
Farah claims the “takeaway from all this is very simple: If the conservative movement is to continue to be a positive force in America’s political debate, it must stand for something. It is inarguable that the people who founded the movement believed they were trying to “conserve” something. It wasn’t a movement founded simply to fight for lower tax rates or smaller government. It was much more than that.”
“Much more than that” to Farah includes some religious diatribe that of course ends up in Ronald Reagan.
But on The Michelangelo Signorile Show, GOProud’s Chris Barron insisted they haven’t been booted.
Mike Signorile, host of The Michelangelo Signorile Show, invited GOProud head Chris Barron on his show, and moments later kicked him off when, as Signorile says, “Barron outright lied in this interview, claiming that he often doesn’t come on my show (implying I asked and he declined), supposedly because of the way I treat him. That’s when I ended the interview.”
Signorile adds, “Not only did GoProud always come on the show when asked — either Jimmy LaSalvia or Barron would come on — but they reached out to my producer to come on the show at other times when we did not ask and we declined, as it wasn’t the best time or was not about something we were interested in.”
You can hear the audio from The Michelangelo Signorile Show here.
Last month, Barron lashed out via Twitter and said, “The gay left = the American Taliban. Hateful, angry and dumb as shit.â€
Has Chris Barron, apparently kicked out of CPAC, and kicked off Mike’s show, learned his lesson yet?
