Glee Star Jane Lynch Has A Real-Life Meeting With Mitt Romney

Jane Lynch had a real-life meeting this week with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney that may give her more “You think this is hard?” material for her Sue Sylvester character on Fox’s hit series “Glee.”

Lynch, an Emmy award-winning actress, was at Sunday’s NASCAR race, had an accidental meeting with Romney, and told Politico yesterday that she was far from impressed with the candidate:

Of her chat with Romney, the “Glee” star told POLITICO, “It was like small talk, but he didn’t really hear a word I said. …It affirmed for me that the guy does not know how to relate to people.”

The two crossed paths at an event leading up to the NASCAR Daytona 500 auto race, which was scheduled for Sunday but delayed due to rain.

Lynch, who calls herself a “huge fan” of President Obama, said she’s not worried about Romney or any other Republican candidate beating him in November.

“I don’t think the GOP has found itself,” she said. “I think it’s a party that’s having a huge identity crisis.”

Defending Obama’s record, Lynch said, “He’s one of those people who moves slowly, so at first I was like come on, get a move on. But he’s done great things — rescued the car industry, killed Osama bin Laden and the right doesn’t want to give him any credit for it.”

Catch that last paragraph? Can you guess how media mogul Andrew Breitbart’s “Big Hollywood,” in a piece titled “Your Obama Apologist of the Day,” portrayed Lynch’s comments?

Lynch contends President Barack Obama is on the slow path to greatness. You just need to be patient – and assume he’ll need four more years.

Lynch had a brief exchange with GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney recently, and while she used the meeting to confirm her misgivings about him she reiterated her support for Obama and our need for collective patience.

You know, now that I think about it, Sue Sylvester and Andrew Breitbart almost seem like the same person…
