Gay? Ex-Gay? Exodus International Conference Starts Today!
Are you gay? Fighting those nasty homosexual urges? Do you find yourself attracted to members of your same gender? Do you believe that it is morally and spiritually wrong and that, even though God created you in his image, he was having an off-day when you were born?
Fear not! Exodus International, one of the largest so-called “ex-gay ministries” has a conference just for you, and it’s starting today! Just head on down to North Carolina, pay $325 to register (food and lodging not included) for four days of fun (but not too much!) and frolic (but not that kind!) and embrace (not that kind!) the word of God — which tells you how evil you really are.
Let’s be frank, folks. If you’re gay, bisexual, lesbian, transgender, it’s OK. Embrace it.
If you believe in God, he loves you, just the way you are.
Trying to change something in your very soul goes against nature and God.
And so does Exodus International and all the ex-gay movement, as we see in our series, The Sissy Boy Experiment.
Exodus claims, “Exodus International is the world’s largest ministry to individuals and families impacted by homosexuality. With over 35 years of ministry experience, Exodus is committed to encouraging, educating and equipping the Body of Christ to address the issue of homosexuality with grace and truth.”
By the way, two of Exodus’ founders left the group and got married. Two men. And a member of their board of directors got kicked out for hanging out in a gay bar looking for, well, you know.
George Rekers is the very example of the ex-gay fallacy. Read all about him here.
“Ex-gay” doesn’t exist. The very idea is dangerous, and destructive. And it’s already, tragically, killed.
