Gay Conservative Group Leader: “Second Amendment Rights Are Gay Rights”
GOProud co-founder Jimmy LaSalvia told MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, “Second Amendment rights are gay rights,” because, as he has been falsely touting all week, hate crime laws don’t work.
LaSalvia stupidly says of hate crimes, “there’s clearly not been an end to them since we passed the federal hate crimes laws.”
And there’s clearly not been an end to murder since we passed murder laws.
We’ll have more soon on why hate crimes laws are important. It is truly embarrassing that the leader of a gay organization, regardless of his personal opinion of hate crimes laws, does not even know what they’re for.
LaSalvia is lucky his assailants didn’t have a gun because if they did, and thought he was reaching for one, you can be damned sure he would have been shot.
His “logic” is ludicrous.
Roberts, by the way, does an excellent job of grilling LaSalvia, who espouses extreme right wing Tea Party views.
