Galliano, Top Dior Designer, Fired After Anti-Semitic Comments

John Galliano, the British head designer for Christian Dior, is being fired after anti-semitic comments he made in a bar on Friday. There are no reports the fifty-year old iconic couturier has made apologies for reportedly saying, “I love Hitler” … “People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers would all be fucking gassed,” which was reportedly followed by, “Dirty Jewish face, you should be dead … Fucking Asian bastard, I will kill you.”

Women’s Wear Daily writes, “Sidney Toledano, Dior’s president and chief executive officer, said, ‘We unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano which are in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of  Christian Dior.’”

Galliano has filed a claim against the couple who accused him of making the comments to them.

In 2009, Galliano was admitted to the French Legion of Honour with the rank of Chevalier, and has been named one of “the most influential gay people in Britain.”
