FRC Offers Prayer Calling To Make Homosexuality And Gay Marriage Illegal

The Family Research Council (FRC), hosts of the Values Voters Summit, currently underway, today offered a “prayer” to make illegal homosexuality and same-sex marriage, which they label as a “destructive lifestyle,” despite claiming “FRC does not hate homosexuals.” The prayer, which seems to suggest gays will go to hell, is in response to both the August shooting at the Washington, D.C. headquarters, and the call from seven human rights groups calling for Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor to forgo speaking at the Values Voters Summit.

Family Research Council, (again, while claiming they do not hate homosexuals,) also claim it is their duty to proclaim to the world “Biblical and scientific truth” about gay people, for “redemptive” purposes. Apparently, lying about people, over and over again, and using discredited “science” and the Bible as tools of hate is not hate, it’s love — so they seem to believe.

FRC also states they are working “to advance public policy” to protect the “physical, moral and spiritual safety” of children — because, the logical conclusion from their hate speech goes, gays are dangerous to children.

The relevnt portions of the prayer and announcement claim “the dedicated Christian staff at FRC does not hate homosexuals.”

Indeed, by publishing Biblical and scientific truth, our aim is redemptive. We pray for those caught in this destructive lifestyle for their liberty. We labor to advance public policy that strengthens faith, family and freedom, and physical, moral and spiritual safety for our children (Accusation, Liberal Defense, Speaker’s Answer, FRC Response)

  • Please pray that God will give FRC and our friends courage ceaselessly to proclaim truth as it pertains to marriage and human sexuality. May God grant us favor in fashioning public policy that fosters marriage and human sexuality that reflects God’s wisdom and righteousness! (Dt 17:18; Ps 5:11; Is 10:1; Mt 19:3 ff; Eph 5:22-33; Titus 1:8 ff; Heb 13:4; Jude 7)

The final biblical reference, Jude 7, states, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire,” suggesting gays will go to hell.

Wednesday, FRC President Tony Perkins, calling for “civility,” also labeled homosexuality “destructive,” and an “unfortunate experience,” and likened it to drug use.
