Fox News: Obama Campaign Slogan Has ‘Ties to Marxism, Socialism’

Fox News is now reporting that President Barack Obama’s just-released new campaign video that previews his new slogan, “Forward,” has “historical ties to Marxism, Socialism.”

“The Obama campaign apparently didn’t look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, ‘Forward’ — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism,” Fox News reports, in an article linking to the even more radical Washington Times.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name “Forward!” or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called “Forward (generic name of socialist publications).”

“The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications,” the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan “Forward!” reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

That “entire section” in Wikipedia? 139 words. By comparison, the entire four paragraphs above, the entire Fox News story, is 137 words.

Wikipedia also notes that “forward” is a direction, as in, the opposite of backward. (We could easily stop here.)

Forward is a leadership position in football, basketball, and rugby. The Forward is also a Jewish-American newspaper. Forward is also the name of several towns in Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Forward is also the name of a truck sold in the U.S. by Isuzu. And Forward is the name of an album recorded by American Idol semi-finalist Ayla Brown.

Interesting that Fox News and the Washington Times didn’t bother to make those sports, journalism,  geographic, automotive, or musical references.

Victor Morton, the author of the lengthier Washington Times piece, concludes:

Conservative critics of the Obama administration have noted numerous ties to radicalism and socialists throughout Mr. Obama’s history, from his first political campaign being launched from the living room of two former Weather Underground members, to appointing as green jobs czar Van Jones, a self-described communist.

Well, Mr. Morton, did you know that the Global Times, a Chinese newspaper, is owned by the Communist Party of China? Seems your founders didn’t do their homework either, eh?

But that should be of little concern or surprise to you, since your own employer, the Washington Times, was was founded by the Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon. And just so you know, Reverend Moon is most-famous for holding thousands of “mass weddings” over the past 50 years, during which he the matches tens of thousands of men and women who have never before met and marries them in a “blessing ceremony.” The largest of these was in 2009, during which Moon “married” 80,000 men and women, creating 40,000 couples.

Moon, who has spent at least a reported two billion dollars keeping the paper running since 1982, once professed, “The Washington Times is responsible to let the American people know about God” and “The Washington Times will become the instrument in spreading the truth about God to the world.”

But in fact, Wikipedia notes that he wife of a Washington Times editor was criticized by the Southern Poverty Law Center “for writing articles for white nationalist websites,” (no wonder Fox News likes them!) and adds:

The Washington Times has lost money every year that it has been in business. By 2002, the Unification Church had spent about $1.7 billion subsidizing the Times.

Sounds a little like socialism to me, eh, comrade?
