Amendment One is bad for North Carolina and absolutely un-American. A huge bipartisan coalition has come out strongly against the ballot initiative that would write discrimination into the state’s constitution. People like President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue, U.S. Senator Kay Hagan, faith leaders, business leaders, legal experts, college students, and so many others are on the record asking North Carolina to vote “no” on Amendment One.
A constitutional ballot initiative, Amendment One would change North Carolina’s constitution by permanently banning same-sex marriage, removing orders of protection from domestic violence victims, and even remove children from their parents’ insurance policies.
