Feds Perform Vaginal And Anal Search Without Consent On Woman Suspected Of Carrying Drugs: ACLU

Just last week, The New Civil Rights Movement reported on the case of a New Mexico man who was pulled over by police for rolling through a stop sign. Because the cops thought he seemed to be clenching his buttocks, they assumed he was carrying drugs. They gave him several anal exams, an enema, a colonoscopy, and took X-rays. And found nothing.

Now, a new report finds a life-long New Mexico woman in her 50’s, returning to the U.S. via El Paso from a trip to Mexico says federal law enforcement agents suspected she was carrying drugs after a dog alerted them to her.

The woman is keeping her name from the press because she — rightly — considers herself a victim of sexual assault. Her attorney, from the ACLU, says federal agents strip-searched her. They found nothing. Then the feds proceeded to inspect her vagina with their hands. They found nothing. She was taken to the hospital, forced to defecate with federal agents watching. They found nothing. They took an X-ray. They found nothing. Then they again inspected her vagina. They found nothing. Then they inspected her anus. They found nothing. Then they performed a CAT scan. They found nothing.

All this, because one drug-sniffing dog indicated to federal agents she might be carrying drugs.

The ACLU says the feds did all this without a search warrant.

And all this without her consent.

Is that sexual assault? How could it not be?

If a non-law enforcement person did all this to a woman without her consent, they’d be arrested and jailed. Who will go to jail in this case?

Americans concerned about what the NSA is seeing ought to be doubly concerned about this report.

Was there not one law enforcement agent who thought, “Hey, maybe this is wrong?”

Every person — law enforcement agents and medical personnel — who participated in this assault, if this report is accurate, in my opinion deserves jail time. And their supervisors do too.

Something like this doesn’t happen by accident. This wasn’t one rogue agent who was having a bad day and made a mistake. This is institutional malpractice.

Instead of stupid partisan Obamacare witch hunts, maybe Darrell Issa should be investigating this.
