ESPN Sports Radio Host Jared Max: “I’m Gay”

Jared Max, ESPN’s new sportscaster who joined the mega-brand last month, today told his listeners, “I’m gay.” Saying he told his mother when he was 21, and that he’s hidden his homosexuality from his coworkers and listeners all his life, he was today removing his “self-imposed shackles” and “gargantuan-sized secret” and leading a new life — although he also said the issue would not be brought up again on-air.

“Truth is, why should we cater to the bigots and the uneducated folks?,” Max asked.

Max, who left New York City’s local WCBS AM NewsRadio 880 in March to join ESPN, discussed Charles Barkley’s statement that all pro sports players have played with someone who is gay.

Max’s ESPN bio states, “With no respect for anything but the truth, Jared Max delivers a no-nonsense, yet, highly creative and lighthearted, thought-provoking morning sports show to the tri-state sports fan.”

He certainly did today.
