Ellen DeGeneres just announced she will be hosting the Oscars! Via Twitter, the comedian, talk show host and frequent LGBT activist said, “It’s official: I’m hosting the #Oscars! I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.”
Officially, DeGeneres will be hosting the 86th Academy Awards on March 2, 2014 — one week later than usual to not interfere with the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Last year’s Oscars were hosted by Seth MacFarlane, creator of “Family Guy.” Reviews were mixed.
