Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Obamacare Causing ‘Many’ Pregnant Elderly Women To Lose Doctors

Elisabeth Hasselbeck once again is exposing her utter lack of preparation and understanding of the news she discusses while co-hosting the popular Fox News morning show, “Fox & Friends.” The 36-year old Republican who co-hosted “The View” for a decade came under fire just last week for her blathering interview of Sarah Palin. Hasselbeck’s riveting interrogation of Palin, who is hawking her latest book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas, included the question, “Do you cut your Christmas tree down yourself?”

Last month, Hasselbeck claimed that insurance companies canceling substandard polices was “the grand design of Obamacare, to squeeze everyone out of their existing plans, to squeeze insurance companies so they have an option to cut and run from the American people and put everyone into the system.”

Today, Hasselbeck furthered her ignorant exploration of issues confronting average Americans, by claiming that “many” elderly pregnant women are losing their doctors, thanks to, you guessed it, Obamacare.

Conservative Fox Business host Stuart Varney introed the segment, “Who’s Ruining the Economy Now?,” by announcing that “United Healthcare has just dropped — we don’t know exactly how many — but thousands of doctors have been dropped from United Heathcare’s Medicare Advantage program.”

Medicare is designed primarily for Americans 65 and older, although it covers some younger people with disabilities or diseases, like end stage renal disease.

Medicare Advantage is designed to pay for those aspects of healthcare for seniors that Medicare does not cover.

“That leaves hundreds of thousands of patients without the doctor that they’ve had for many many years,” Varney continued. “We don’t know how many thousands have been dropped, but thousands have been dropped. What about their patients? What about the people who used to have this doctor who now no longer have this doctor? Broken promise.”

Hasselbeck, of course, was obliged to weigh in.

“And many of those people are women who are expecting babies and who may just have a real relationship with their physician and want to see the same doctor deliver possibly their second child. And they are now left in the dark in a time that they feeling quite vulnerable.”

Even Varney was forced to remind Hasselbeck, “Most of them are elderly.”
