Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin won the West Virginia Governor’s race last night in a special election to replace Joe Manchin, who took Robert Byrd’s Senate seat after his death. Of course, the media is calling this as a referendum on Obama, right? Of course the news is all over this, right? A harbinger of a new Democratic movement, right? Of course not.
Every election — special or not — held since Obama took office where the Republicans have won has been heralded as a referendum on Obama. Of course, this time a Democrat won.
