Dan Savage, the man who redefined the word “santorum,” last night told Current TV’s Keith Olbermann that Rick Santorum doesn’t merely have an anti-gay agenda, he has an anti-straight agenda too. Savage reminded Olbermann, and America, that Rick Santorum wants to ban both abortion and contraception. That should be troubling news for the majority of straight Americans who, in fact, not only use but rely on birth control methods to plan their families, and to protect them from sexually-transmitted diseases.
“One of the things I’m constantly reminding people about Rick Santorum is that he doesn’t have merely an anti-gay agenda — he has an anti-straight agenda too,” Dan Savage told Keith Olbermann. “He’s against birth control, he’s against abortion, he’s against pornography, he’s against all sorts of things that straight people use and enjoy frequently….You need to know, heterosexual Americans, that gay-bashing isn’t his only hobby.”
For the record, Santorum also wrongly stated that no one has ever died from not having health care, would annul all same-sex marriages already performed, in addition to banning gay marriage entirely, wants to eradicate welfare, would re-instate Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and actually wants to use heterosexual marriage to fix the economy.
Small government? Hardly. Try monstrously huge government. And entirely out of pace with America and American values.
