Dan Savage Asks Herman Cain To Choose To Be Gay To Prove It’s Possible
Dan Savage again is asking GOP frontrunner Herman Cain to choose to be gay to prove it is a choice. In typical Dan Savage form, he doesn’t mince words:
Dear Herman,
If being gay is a choice, show us the proof. Choose it. Choose to be gay yourself. Show America how that’s done, Herman, show us how a man can choose to be gay. Suck my dick, Herman. Name the time and the place and I’ll bring my dick and a camera crew and you can suck me off and win the argument.
Very sincerely yours,
Dan Savage
Cain has now several times insisted that being gay is a choice, and that until someone shows him scientific proof that being gay is not a choice, he is going to choose to believe that it is.
“I was born Black… this doesn’t wash off,†Cain told CNN’s Piers Morgan Wednesday.
And earlier this month, Cain said, “Well, you show me the science that it’s not and I’ll be persuaded. Right now it’s my opinion against the opinions of others who feel differently. That’s just a difference of opinions,” speaking with Joy Behar.
Dan Savage added,
“And then I’ll say this: when someone argues that being gay is a choice, he’s not just insulting gay people. (And ignoring the science of sexual orientation.) He’s insulting straight people. If homosexuality is a choice, then so is heterosexuality. Last night on CNN Herman Cain said that being straight is something that a straight person can take or leave. Herman Cain believes that heterosexuality is something a heterosexual can decide to walk away from, like a underwater house or a lousy meal. Straight people should get angry when they hear a straight person making this argument.”
Let’s remember too that Cain could simply use the Google machine to do some research, as could any of the journalists who keep asking him the question.
