Conservatives Using American Hero Petraeus, Whom They Once Idolized, To Attack Obama

Conservatives are now attacking General David Petraeus, the CIA Director who resigned today because he had an extramarital affair. Petraeus just months ago was considered a possible running mate for Mitt Romney, and is — was — so beloved on the right for being the hero who lessened the disasters that were Bush’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Petraeus was about as close to God as you could get in the GOP. Rather than allow a man who chose an honorable path they would never, ever consider — resigning after a personal failing — they attack and lambast him in their freak show attempts to paint President Obama as forever evil.// <![CDATA[

But of course, nothing is sacred over in anti-reality world that is conservative America.

Remember, these are the same people who impeached Bill Clinton over having an affair. Here, General Petraeus shows he’s a man of honor — not like, say Newt Gingrich or Rush Limbaugh — and they attempt to annihilate him.

Remember, too, this is the “pro-family” crowd.
