CNN And Breitbart Hack Dana Loesch: I Don’t Know His Remarks But He’s A Conservative So I Support Him

Dana Loesch, a CNN political analyst and editor-in-chief of Breitbart’s Big Journalism, says she is happy to support a 14-year old conservative gay-bashing theocratic bully because he’s a conservative, despite the fact that she has no idea what he said to be criticized by the left.

Loesch, as The New Civil Rights Movement was the first to report, said via Twitter today, “Another conservative teen under attack for being … a conservative teen:@caidencowger. Remember when adults praised civic participation?”

One New Civil Rights Movement reader responded:

Remember when adults respected education & corrected ignorance instead of letting kids twist in the wind

Caiden Cowger, as most of American knows now, is the 14-year old conservative teen who attacked gays and homosexuality on his radio show and claimed that “Obama is making kids gay!”

Caiden Cowger needs a strong mentor and some lessons in religion, the Bible, history, the consequences of actions, and yes, civics.

Dana Loesch needs a strong mentor and some lessons in religion, the Bible, history, the consequences of actions, and yes, civics.

As one person on Twitter wrote, “Hate and ignorance are not civic participation.”

Loesch went on to defend her tweet, stating on her website:

Last night on Twitter I noticed an inordinate amount of adult progressives attacking a 13 year-old on Twitter because of his remarks on his online radio show. I don’t listen to his radio show or know his remarks, but agreement with speech shouldn’t be the litmus test in telling grown men, women, and a national publication to stop cyber bullying a child.

Loesch also defended herself and her defense of the anti-gay 14-year old Caiden Cowger by tweeting:

The idea of free speech in the 1st Amendment wasn’t to protect only speech with which you agree.

to which someone else pointed out,

The 1st Am[endment] ALSO only covers impediment by the GOVT. Read the constitution before you bring it up. Srsly, HOW do you have a job?

Indeed, CNN and Breitbart.com. How does she have a job?

Over at Little Green Footballs, STLActivist wrote:

Of course, Loesch is now trying to claim that she was just defending free speech, but no one was questioning whether Cowger had a right to say what he did. By saying that his comments were just part of “being a conservative teen,” Loesch was suggesting Cowger’s views were more than just legally protected and, in fact, that they were just a natural part of being conservative. While the country is going to hell in a handbasket in a lot of other ways, I think we can at least say we’ve reached a point where even many conservatives are no longer attacking homosexuality and certainly not ending friendships with people just because they’re gay, and this behavior should hardly be considered the norm.

Loesch’s “evolving” stance on LGBT issues is symbolic of her career in general. She used to be publicly supportive of the LGBT community, and supposedly still is privately. However, as long as she’s getting paid to be a shock jock and trying to increase the knuckle-dragger share of her audience, she’s happy to bash any and all liberal gay rights advocates and to throw red meat to bigots.

Regular readers will remember back in January, Loesch said she supported the Marines who urinated of the corpses of dead Afghanistan civilians, and that she would do it herself. The act of those Marines was despicable and could have cost American lives.

To be clear: Caiden Cowger should not be bullied — cyber or otherwise. But his parents and school administrators need to get involved and he needs to learn the consequences of his actions. Hate speech — especially unprovoked hate speech — while possibly legally protected, nevertheless is wrong.

Meanwhile, in Dana Loesch’s world, the moat gets filled, the iron gates hurl down, the overhead oxygen masks drop, the bullet-proof vests get worn, and the missile defense shields go up, for anyone who is a conservative, regardless of what they said or did.

If “Ronald Smith” said he was a conservative, no doubt Loesch would be first in line to defend him, even if he were in jail for starting World War III.

Blind loyalty and blind deference from a journalist is about as dangerous as it gets.
