Chaz Bono today told Oprah about his experience transitioning, saying that when puberty hit, “It also felt like my body was literally betraying me.” Oprah responded, “The boobs threw you off.” Chaz added, “You have this image of yourself and all of a sudden your body does the exact opposite of what you feel,” and said, “I wanted to be a boy.”
“For some reason I thought there were other lesbians that felt that way and that was just a part of that community,” Chaz says. “And then I realized, no, that isn’t what a lesbian is at all, that’s what being transgender is.”
