Cain: I Absolutely Positively Have Never Ever Behaved Inappropriately.
Herman Cain, in a nationally-televised press conference this afternoon said he has never behaved inappropriately with anyone, ever. “I have never acted inappropriately with anyone. Period,†Cain said. Cain stands accused of sexually harassing four women now.
Cain also claimed he never sexually harassed anyone, and that his campaign has not accused anyone of being behind the accusations. Cain stated he believed it was possible his recent accuser who came public yesterday might have been motivated by financial reasons.
“The charges and the accusations I absolutely reject. They simply didn’t happen,” Cain stressed.
“I absolutely would. But I’m not going to do that unless I have a good reason to do that,” Cain said, when asked if he would take a lie detector test. Reporters after the press conference wondered what greater reason he could find to take one.
He also blamed “the Democrat machine in America [which] has brought forth a troubled woman†to make the charges of sexual harassment or sexual assault.
Herman Cain or his campaign so far have blamed the Rick Perry campaign, Liberals, the Democrats, Rahm Emanuel, and possibly others for being behind the sexual assault or harassment charges.
As to whether he will quit his presidential campaign, “Ain’t gonna happen,†he said, addressing the issue of whether he would stop running. “I will not be deterred by anonymous, false, incorrect accusations.â€
“I’m not an expert in how the brain works,” Cain stated.
Moments before his press conference started, another accuser, Karen Kraushaar, came forward by name, and says she wants to go public. Kraushaar is employed by the Treasury Department’s inspector general office.
David Kurtz at Talking Points Memo wrote, “Shorter Herman Cain: I am the true victim.” TPM ran the headline, “Herman Cain’s Holds Press Conference To Address Newest Allegations … Claims He Doesn’t Remember Accuser, Calls Her A Liar.”
