Breitbart: Hitler Was Gay

The intellectual giants at Breitbart have another winner! “NEW EVIDENCE FROM HIS DOCTORS SHOWS HITLER WAS GAY,” because, you know, “evidence.”

Breitbart’s William Bigelow writes:

There is new evidence that Adolph Hitler was gay. Doctors who treated Hitler were interviewed by the U.S. Army after World War II, and the notes from those interviews have now been made public.

Yes, you see, “notes” from a medical technician who interviewed men who claimed to be Hitler’s doctors after World War II are “evidence.”

Army interrogator Herman Merl, who was a medical technician who interviewed Hitler’s doctors, Karl Brandt and Hitler’s primary physician, Theodor Morell, wrote “Homosex” in the space provided for Hitler’s sexuality. The doctors told Merl that Hitler did not sleep with girlfriend Eva Braun in her bedroom, and he himself received female hormones. Merl wrote, “Eva Braun = separate rooms” and “female hormone – injection 50,000 units.” He added, “His sexual life and intercourse with Eva Braun was told to me.”

Barely linking to a story in the Washington Examiner, a conservative D.C. tabloid owned by the same folks who have a sense of humor large enough to publish neo-con war hawk Bill Kristol’s Weekly Standard, Breitbart adds:

The notebooks Merl kept will be sold by Alexander Historical Auctions of Chesapeake City, Md. in late May. Alexander has previously sold notes regarding Hitler that revealed he was also injected with bull semen for testosterone.

I imagine that Breibart suggesting taking female hormones and injecting bull semen is “evidence” of someone — Hitler, no less — being gay, along with supposed notes that say “homosex” is all the journalistic credibility they need to prove all those Benghazi stories they’re floating are real, too.

The Washington Examiner, by the way, a daily paper that’s doing so well they’re changing to a weekly next month, links to “one of the nation’s leading sellers of historical artifacts, Alexander Historical Auctions of Chesapeake City, Md.,”  where these notebooks are to be auctioned off. The link leads to a site called Alexander Historical Auctions located at “860 Canal Street . Second Floor . Stamford, CT 06902,” and our search of “Hitler” on the site leads to no results like the Examiner describes, but we of course aren’t experts at searching for Hitler historical artifacts so we certainly may have been wrong…

Update: The Washington Examiner article is dated January 7, 2013, which leads one to wonder why, four months later, Breitbart chose to publish this “news.”
