Breitbart Fantasizes About Killing Liberals: “We outnumber them and we have the guns” (Video)

Tea Party darling Andrew Breitbart fantasized about killing Liberals — and especially union members — claiming that conservatives outnumber Liberals, and are the ones who have guns. The pseudo-journalist and media mogul also said he is the subject of death threats, and complained people on Twitter call him “gay.” Breitbart claimed he is favored by U.S. military officers, who, in a civil war, would come to his aid, and  several times belittled political activist Janeane Garofalo. Breitbart said all this, and far more, at the Red Mass Group greater Boston Tea Party event in Lexington, Massachusetts on September 16.

Shockingly, Breitbart (archives) seemed to threaten the children of ABC News journalist Katie Couric, saying, “What if we went to Katie Couric’s house, what if the Tea Party showed up at Katie Couric’s house and scared the living crap out of her teenaged kids?”

Breitbart, 42, has a long history of attacking Couric.

Speaking about Liberals, in this video Breitbart can be heard saying, “We outnumber them in this country, and we have the guns,” to audience laughter, reminiscent of GOP presidential debates this month during which the audience vigorously applauded at Texas Governor Rick Perry’s record of executing 234 people, and at a later debate, more audience applause at the idea of allowing a hypothetical 30-year old father to die because he was uninsured and had medical expenses.

“I’m not kidding,” Breitbart insisted.

Penn Bullock at Towleroad quotes Breitbart claiming to have the backing of a cadre within the U.S. military:

I’m under attack all the time. They call me gay, there are death threats… There are times where I’m not thinking as clearly as I should, and in those unclear moments, I always think to myself, ‘Fire the first shot.’ Bring it on. Because I know who’s on our side. They can only win a rhetorical and propaganda war. They cannot win. We outnumber them in this country, and we have the guns… I’m not kidding. They talk a mean game, but they will not cross that line because they know what they’re dealing with.

Then he says that unnamed senior military officials have personally assured him that they’ll throw in with the right-wing in a civil war.

And I have people who come up to me in the military, major named people in the military, who grab me and they go, ‘Thank you for what you’re doing, we’ve got your back.’

They understand that. These are the unspoken things we know, they know.

On the face of it, Breitbart’s admission demands a congressional or criminal investigation. If he’s implying that military officials have pledged their armed support to him and the right-wing, those officials are guilty of treason. If Breitbart is lying, he’s diagnosable.

(Emphasis mine.)

I’ll take it one further. Dr. Keith Ablow, terribly fond of crossing APA guidelines, likes to pop-psychology diagnose those in the public eye, without actually meeting them. So, I challenge Ablow to deliver his so-called professional opinion on Andrew Breitbart’s mental state, based upon these videos that have surfaced this week.

Over at Little Green Footballs, Kilgore Trout says that Breitbart “elaborates that he imagines the military is going to rise up and start killing union members to protect the country (or something), and reiterates that he’s talking about actual armed conflict and not elections.”
