By an 8-2 margin, Vermont’s House Judiciary Committee voted in favor of a popular same-sex marriage bill this morning, advancing the legislation to the full House for debate Thursday.
Despite a constituency that favors gay marriage by 58% to 39%, Republican Governor Jim Douglas has promised to veto the bill. Already, the Governor has received over 1500 letters, mostly in favor of the legislation.
