BREAKING NEWS: New Hampshire Senate Passes Gay Marriage Bill

House Has Already Passed Their Version, Bill Will Go To Governor

Just minutes ago, the New Hampshire State Senate, by a vote of 13 – 11, passed a gay marriage bill. Despite Democratic Judiciary Committee Chairwoman Deborah Reynolds’ statement that New hampshire is “not ready” for gay marriage, the bill was moved into the full Senate. Last week, the New Hampshire House approved the bill as well.

The Senate version specifically prohibits polygamy, and marriage of family members.

Democratic Governor John Lynch has not said if he will pass the bill, although he has indicated he is against same-sex marriage. Stay tuned for updates, which could come later today.
