Bill Moyers, Ted Olson, David Boies Discuss Federal Prop 8 Trial

On this week’s edition of Bill Moyers Journal, Ted Olson and David Boies, the conservative and liberal duo who teamed up and just concluded their challenge to Prop 8 in the first federal marriage equality case, discuss why they took the case, and why marriage equality is so important.

Unfortunately, PBS does not offer embedding of their videos, so you’ll have to head over to Bill Moyers site on PBS to watch the show – or watch it on your local PBS station. (Here in New York it will be shown again Sunday at 8 AM.)

What you may find surprising — I know I did — is the vehement and at times offensive discussion happening at PBS.org in the comments section. I made a few comments of my own. I hope you’ll share your thoughts here, there, and over at our Facebook fan page. To be honest, the comments over at PBS could use some balance — right now the homophobes are out in full force!

And I hope you’ll encourage everyone to watch the video. In some ways, it’s a bit elementary for those who are familiar with the Olson/Boies Prop 8 case, but then again, there are so many who aren’t sufficiently familiar with it. There’s something in it for everyone.
