On “Newt Gingrich: Poor Children Are As Lazy As Their Welfare Grabbing Parents,” in which Newt Gingrich today said poor children are lazy and don’t know how to work: “poor children, in poor neighborhoods have no habits of working… unless it is illegal,” reader arindiana posted this comment on our story:

I am a teacher in a high poverty school. I’d like for Gingrich to come say those words to these incredibly hard working students. I’d like him to see how hard their parents work at their JOBS and support their kids at school. How are these hard working kids supposed to view so-called “equal opportunity” America when our politicians say such things? Shame on him. Shame, shame, shame.
