Barney Frank Caused Millions To Contract HIV/AIDS, Says Brian Fischer

Congressman Barney Frank, 71, who announced Monday after 30 years in office he will not seek another term, is the subject of a hate-filled screed by Bryan Fischer, the public face of the certified anti-gay hate group, American Family Association, who suggested on his radio program yesterday that Barney Frank is responsible for millions of people contracting HIV/AIDS.

“Who knows how many people were drawn or encouraged in some way by Barney Frank’s example to dabble in a lifestyle that eventually cost them their health and maybe even cost them their lives,” Fischer said.

Congressman Frank, while imperfect, has done more good for America than Bryan Fischer could ever hope to achieve.

Brian Tashman of Right Wing Watch offers this video and transcript:

Fischer: Barney Frank served seventeen terms in Congress and this is some of the stuff in his background: he was the first openly gay member of Congress – I just saw deal, according to the Centers for Disease Control, sixty-one percent of all of the new HIV/AIDS cases are among men who have sex with men. This is a dangerous, risky, immoral, unhealthy lifestyle, and Barney Frank has been an open practitioner of a lifestyle that is condemning one young man after another to an early grave. This is not somebody to admire, this is not somebody to honor – you’ve got all these left-wing media outlets out there talking about what a colorful figure he was and how important a legislator he was and how he’s going to be missed on the American political scene. And yet he modeled a lifestyle which is really a deathstyle. People imitate that. You have got to know that people are influenced toward that behavior, if they have any kind of inclination in that direction, if there are very prominent people that are engaging in it, they’re doing it openly, they are praised by the press rather than criticized for flaunting this kind of behavior, you’ve got to know that has got an impact. So who knows how many people were sort of drawn or encouraged in some way by Barney Frank’s example to dabble in a lifestyle that eventually cost them their health and maybe even cost them their lives.

Fischer has routinely called gays “Nazis,” claimed that Hitler’s Brownshirts — and Hitler himself — were all gay “thugs” and good at what they did because they were gay, claimed that gays cannot be monogamous or maintain relationships, said gays are a threat to national security and to public health, said the “homosexual agenda” is incompatible with religion, called for putting gays in jail, called “the gay lifestyle” a “death style,” called gays “bigots” who commit hate crimes, and said the repeal of DADT will lead to a draft. That’s not everything, just going back to June. Yes, Fischer has said all that over the course of about four months.

And in August, Fischer said,

“I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, until everyone in the United States agrees with me. America must choose between homosexuality and religious liberty, because we cannot have both. America must choose between homosexuality and freedom of speech, because we cannot have both. America must choose between homosexuality and freedom, because we cannot have both.”
